Located in the heart of the city, Delhi Golf Course has been in existence since 1931 and comprises verdant flora and deep bunkers. Set amidst historical monuments like the Lal Bangla, made out of red sandstone. Your golfing journey would start here at Delhi Golf Course.
GURGAON: DLF GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB is an elite golf club triggered by the concept of “Walk to the Lifestyle". An exclusive 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course, with India's first night golfing facility - created by DLF, the most respected name in real estate development in India. Situated at the foothills of the gently rolling Aravalli range, the 7070-yard golf course carries the distinctive signature of the King of Golf, Arnold Palmer. With its unique layout and picturesque surroundings, the DLF golf course offers challenging play for golfers of all skill levels and a natural beauty that envelops your senses. Night golfers tee off from the manicured parkland style course that boasts of five lakes, 14000 trees and waterfalls.
GURGAON: GOLDEN GREENS is designed as a ‘links’-style course, meaning rolling fairways with deep valleys and hills a bit like the old seaside courses in Scotland. This and the number of dog-leg fairways means that you have to be careful about where you place the ball off the tee, and the course makes for a challenging 18-hole layout. The combination of the light and the landscape with reddish gorse and elephant grass provide for a very pleasant golfing experience. This course is further down the highway and is partly surrounded by the picturesque Aravalli hills.
GURGAON: THE CLASSIC GOLF RESORT comes closest to being a real golf resort. This is both the oldest of the signature courses and the furthest away. Classic also has various other facilities, such as a swimming pool, three tennis courts, a squash court, croquet and the only lawn bowls greens outside Kolkata. The resort's night safaris and treks in the surrounding Aravallis are popular with overnight visitors and as a part of corporate events. Of the signature courses, Classic, designed by Jack Nicklaus is unique in that it offers 27 holes of golf. Being the oldest course, it is also the most mature, in golfing terms. The greens have settled down and the layout, with a large number of bunkers and some long holes, is quite challenging with the wind often a factor.
GREATER NOIDA: JAYPEE GREENS GOLF RESORT is located about a 30-minute drive from south Delhi. This course is open, at a price, both to members and non-members. The small heated indoor pool, the large outdoor pool and one of the best-equipped gyms in town. In addition, Jaypee Greens also has excellent conference facilities on-site, an Italian restaurant, a bar and a dining area. The clubhouse is a bit basic but a new one with enhanced facilities is coming up. The golf course itself, a Greg Norman design, is reputed to be the longest in India and, with the often high rough, plentiful bunkers and numerous well placed water bodies, getting a low score here is not easy. This course, along with DLF and Classic, has become a favorite venue for corporate golfing events.
KASHMIR: GULMARG GOLF COURSE offers a unique opportunity to play golf all through the summer – from April to November – in invigorating surroundings, where the wind whispers through enormous trees of chinar and stately pine. The layout of the course, too, will delight the golfers. The course is like nothing you’ve ever seen or imagined before. Situated at an altitude of 2,650 meters, it is the highest green golf course anywhere in the world. The layout of the course too is strikingly different from most golf courses – the land slopes and inclines along the complete area of the course, which has a par of 72. The club, started by the British who used Gulmarg as a holiday resort, first opened its doors in 1904 and a charmingly written book traces its past.
SRINAGAR: ROYAL SPRINGS GOLF COURSE spans across 300 acres near the famous Cheshma Shahi. Open to general public, the golf course was designed and laid out by the world renowned golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr. II, who has designed about 500 courses all over the world.
